Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

Climate Action

Urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts is the focus of SDG 13. It advocates for measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase resilience to climate-related challenges, and promote sustainable practices to address environmental concerns.

  • Build resilience and adaptability to climate-related hazards and natural disasters globally.
  • Integrate climate change measures into national policies and planning.
  • Enhance education, awareness, and capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction, and early warning.
  • Fulfill the commitment to mobilize USD 100 billion annually by 2020 from all sources to address developing countries’ needs for meaningful mitigation actions and transparency on implementation. Fully operationalize the Green Climate Fund promptly.
  • Promote capacity-building mechanisms for effective climate change planning, particularly in least developed countries and small island developing States, with a focus on women, youth, and marginalized communities.
